I always meant to put this post up but a seminal American poet advocated for a meat-based diet, and lots of exercise. Walt Whitman, poet, essayist and journalist, wrote a manifesto on healthy living that has some surprising resonance to the diets of today.
“Let the main part of the diet be meat, to the exclusion of all else,”
He wrote one of my favourite lines;
Do I contradict myself? Very well then I contradict myself, (I am large, I contain multitudes.)
